Boring is an inner diameter cutting process that uses a tool to expand a hole or other circular contour. Its application range generally ranges from semi rough machining to finish machining. The tool used is usually a single edge boring tool (called boring bar).
During boring, the workpiece is installed on the machine tool workbench or machine tool fixture, and the boring cutter is clamped on the boring bar (or integrated with the boring bar), which is driven and rotated by the spindle. When the boring die is used, the boring bar is floating connected with the spindle, and the machining accuracy depends on the accuracy of the boring die; When the boring die is not used, the boring bar is rigidly connected with the spindle, and the machining accuracy depends on the accuracy of the machine tool. Due to the large overhang distance of the boring bar, it is easy to produce vibration, and the selected cutting amount should not be large. Boring is divided into rough boring, semi fine boring and fine boring. When boring ordinary steel with high-speed steel cutter head, the cutting speed is generally 20 ~ 50M / min; When using cemented carbide cutter head, the cutting speed can reach 40 ~ 60m / min for coarse boring and more than 150m / min for fine boring.
For precision boring with high requirements for precision and surface roughness, diamond boring machine is generally used, and superhard materials such as cemented carbide, diamond and cubic boron nitride are used. The small feed rate (0.02 ~ 0.08 mm / revolution) and cutting depth (0.05 ~ 0.1 mm) are selected, which are higher than the cutting speed of ordinary boring. The machining accuracy of precision boring can reach it7 ~ 6, and the surface roughness is Ra0.63 ~ 0.08 μ M. Before precision boring, the prefabricated hole shall go through rough boring, semi precision boring and precision boring processes, leaving a thin and uniform machining allowance for precision boring.
