Worm gear is a kind of gear which has one or several spiral teeth and is meshed with worm gear to form staggered shaft gear pair.
Worm gear process:
1. Rough turning, semi finishing turning and finishing turning are the most important process route for common materials.
2. Rough turning semi finishing turning rough grinding fine grinding. For ferrous materials, when the requirements of high precision and small surface roughness value and parts need to be hardened, the subsequent process can only be grinding.
3. The oxidation treatment of steel is also called bluing, blackening, and boiling black. The oxidation treatment methods include salty oxidation, alkali-free oxidation and electrolytic oxidation. The alkaline oxidation method is mostly used.
The alkaline oxidation method is to put the spring in a sodium hydroxide solution containing an oxidant at a temperature of about 140°C for a certain period of time. The oxidant and sodium hydroxide react with iron to form sodium ferrite and sodium ferrite, which then react with each other to form magnetic iron oxide.
The thickness of the oxide film layer is about 0.6~2μm. Although the oxide film can improve the corrosion resistance of the spring, because the film is thin and has pores, its protection ability is poor and can only be used for springs that work in a less corrosive medium. The level of its anti-corrosion performance depends on the density of the oxide film and its thickness, which is also determined by factors such as the concentration of sodium hydroxide in the oxidation treatment, the concentration of the oxidant, and the temperature of the solution.
